St-Pierre-Du-Mesnil: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Château du Blanc-Buisson stands in Saint-Pierre-du-Mesnil and was built in 1290 during the reign of Philip the Fair. It is probably one of the last surviving examples of architecture that was both civilian and military in the Pays d’Ouche.

Culture

The Saint-Pierre church also bears evidence of several historical construction phases: its main construction phases date from the 13th, 15th and 18th centuries. During the Revolution, elements of the church in Bec-Hellouin were brought here to protect them from destruction. During recent work on the church, a child’s statue was also discovered buried face down.

The former rectory is also part of the historic village character. This distinctive house served as the village school until the 1970s. Individual visits to the Château du Blanc-Buisson are offered in summer and on Heritage Days.
