The Église Saint-Benoît has been fully listed as a Monument historique since 1 October 1974. The protection covers the entire building, including the interior and exterior.

The Église Saint-Benoist des Ombres was built at the end of the 11th or beginning of the 12th century and remodelled in the 18th century. Above its portal stands a wooden statue of Saint Benedict from the 17th century. In a niche to the left of the choir, there is also a painted stone statue of Saint Lawrence from the 15th century.

Every year on 21 March, a pilgrimage takes place in Saint-Benoît-des-Ombres in honour of Saint Benedict, during which prayers are offered for the protection of relatives and animals.

The Domaine de Saint-Benoît in the Vièvre Forest was founded in 1070 by the Abbey of Saint-Pierre de Préaux.
