Culture

The western gable of the nave of the Église Saint-Georges dates from the 12th century and features masonry in the opus spicatum pattern.

The Église Saint-Georges includes side aisles from the 13th century, a Saint-Georges chapel from the 15th century, and an entrance door with door leaves from the 16th century.

The Chapelle de Bethléem was built from 1576 onwards on the initiative of Cardinal Charles Ier de Bourbon, Archbishop of Rouen, for the Carthusian monks of Bourbon-lez-Gaillon.

Its crypt faithfully recreates the Grotto of the Basilica of the Nativity in Bethlehem in Judea and is described as unique in the world.

The place name Aubevoye is associated with a Roman road that crossed the village from north to south. “ALBA-VIA” (“white road”) is given as a possible derivation.

Nature

The Chapelle de Bethléem is open only during public events. Several forest paths lead to it; travelling there by mountain bike is possible, but there is currently no suitable and safe parking area.
