Culture and History

The communal washhouse in Amécourt was built in the 19th century and is supplied by a local spring. Thanks to the restoration of its swallowtail roof, covered with flat tiles, in 2014, it retains its traditional character.

The communal washhouse can be reached via the Chemin de la Maladrerie, the Chemin du Marais and then the Chemin de la Fontaine des Champs.

The Domaine du Pâtis dates back to the 12th century and was rebuilt in the 18th century in the style of the Vexin normand, using brick, flint and half-timbering.

The Church of Saint-Hilaire in Amécourt has foundations dating from the 12th century. Most of its nave was rebuilt in the 14th or 15th century with alternating layers of flint and stone.

Every year, the chapel in Amécourt dedicated to Saint Anne and Saint Mary hosts a pilgrimage with the Christian community of the parish.

Nature

The ZNIEFF “Coteaux de Bouchevilliers à Sérifontaine” includes Amécourt. This area comprises wooded slopes, woodland edges and grasslands; in the valley floor, there are mown or grazed meadows.

A limestone grassland area within the ZNIEFF “Coteaux de Bouchevilliers à Sérifontaine” is managed by the Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels de Normandie.

The Château d'Amécourt is located in an 8-hectare wooded park surrounded by walls. It is near the Church of Saint-Hélier.
