La Blanche Jument is a 15.9-kilometre circular trail with a walking time of around four hours. The circular route passes through Samer, Wierre-au-Bois, Lacres and Tingry and is marked with yellow, yellow-and-red, and white-and-red trail markers.
The La Blanche Jument circular trail passes the Sablière and, further on, the La Gloriette fishing ponds. The Étangs de la Gloriette in Tingry comprise numerous fishing ponds covering six hectares and form a preserved natural area that invites visitors to walk along the banks.
History
The shape of the former Château de Tingry and the course of its moats can still be recognised today. In 987, the former Château de Tingry was substantially fortified by the Count of Boulogne. In the Middle Ages, Tingry was one of the four castellanies of the Boulonnais.
The parish church of Saint-Pierre in Tingry contains a pair of 19th-century altar candlesticks and also preserves a 12th-century baptismal font. The site of a Protestant temple is still preserved at the Ferme de Niembrune. The Manoir de la Haye d’Incourt dates from the 16th and 17th centuries.
Geographical Setting
The area around Tingry lies partly on the plain and partly on the heights that form the boundaries of the Fosse Boulonnaise.
