The belfry of Aire-sur-la-Lys has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2005. It has a carillon with 14 bells and seven floors; the climb to the campanile comprises 236 steps.

Culture
The Chapelle Beaudelle is a tourist interpretation centre for the cultural heritage of Aire-sur-la-Lys. Two interactive tables with a map system present around fifty thematically organised sights, each with a detailed description. A section of a replica relief map depicting Aire-sur-la-Lys and its fortifications in 1745 can also be seen in the chapel.
The Collégiale Saint-Pierre houses a 17th-century organ case originating from Clairmarais Abbey. It also contains a statue of Notre-Dame Panetière, described as the town’s patron saint.
The Porte de Beaulieu is the last surviving remnant of the fortifications of Aire-sur-la-Lys; the Lys runs through it.
Water and Trails
La Croisière Merveilleuse departs from the port of Aire-sur-la-Lys for a trip on a river yacht or a meal on the water.
Near the port, the EuroVelo 5 greenway runs for several kilometres along the Lys.
From the port of Aire-sur-la-Lys, visitors can take half-day or full-day excursions by vintage bicycle, electric scooter or tandem.
Local Tradition
The Fête de l’Andouille takes place on the first Sunday in September and includes the traditional throwing of andouilles from the Bretèche des Bailliage.
