Culture and history
The Fête du Verre maintains a tradition deeply rooted in Trélon’s glassmaking history. The traditional tour of the Château de Trélon covers the history of the château and the Princes of Merode. The Château de Trélon is open to the public during the times of the guided tours.
The Atelier-Musée du Verre is housed in a former glassworks dating from 1823. It presents machines, tools and glass products; during guided tours, glassmakers work live and shape molten glass into artistic objects. The facility is currently closed to the public and temporarily inaccessible due to the severe storms in June 2026, while technical investigations and preparations for a renovation project are underway.
On Laetare Sunday, a carnival procession passes through Trélon and stops at the most important historical, festive and cultural sites.
Nature and trails
Trélon is located in the Parc Naturel de l’Avesnois. Marked trails for hiking, cycling and horse riding are available in the town. Horseback riding excursions are offered in the Forêt de Trélon.
