Le Cateau-Cambrésis: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Musée départemental Henri Matisse in Le Cateau-Cambrésis houses a Matisse collection comprising 783 works: 26 paintings, 21 sculptures, 479 drawings, 220 prints, 32 illustrated books, one stained-glass window and 19 personal belongings. The museum also includes an Auguste Herbin collection of 92 works.

The Église Saint-Martin is the only surviving remnant of the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-André. At the same time, it is an example of the Mannerist art introduced from Italy, which reached its heyday in the 17th century. Strongly coloured stained-glass windows inspired by Cubism, dating from 1932 to 1934, are also part of the church's furnishings.
