Hem-Lenglet is located on the Canal de la Sensée. The GR 121C passes through the village, running from Aubigny-au-Bac to Lorgnies and connecting the GR 121 with the GR 122.

Nature
The Fontaine Jules-César is located in a small pond. It feeds the marshlands and the Sensée; its water remains at a constant 10 °C.
Culture
The Église Saint-Géry is part of the village’s history: it was built in 1601 and renovated in 1752. The church’s bell tower was rebuilt between 1914 and 1916. Its facets feature glazed dormer windows known as clochetons.
The Pigeonnier de la Ferme du Marais is also part of Hem-Lenglet’s rural heritage and is to be preserved because of its architectural interest.
Routes
The towpaths of Hem-Lenglet along the Canal de la Sensée are popular walking routes; the GR 121C follows them. For cycling tours, the “Sensée des mariniers” route runs between the Bassin Rond and Hem-Lenglet along both banks of the canal, following the GR 121.
Getting there
The route from Douai to Hem-Lenglet leads via Cambrai on the RD643 and, from Aubencheul-au-Bac, via the RD71 in the direction of Fressies. A bus route operates in both directions between Hem-Lenglet and Cambrai.
