The belfry and town hall of Bailleul have been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2005. The belfry is classified as a historic monument and has a carillon with 35 bells. The belfry of Bailleul and its carillon can be visited by prior reservation.

The Musée Benoît-De-Puydt offers an immersive visit to a redesigned 19th-century collector's house. It was founded in 1861 through a significant donation from the collector Benoît De Puydt, who was born in Bailleul. His collection comprises works of art that bear witness to Flemish, European and Asian cultures from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. The collections also include examples of Bailleul's ceramic and lace-making production.

The Maison de la dentelle houses a museum area that traces the history of lace-making and displays traditional and contemporary works by its students.

Nature

The Bellekindt natural area is a protected biodiversity site. The accessible green space covers eight hectares and is located in the heart of Bailleul.

Local experiences

The École dentellière in Bailleul is open to visitors year-round, except on Sundays, Mondays, public holidays and during the Christmas holidays. Visitors can watch the lace-makers at work there and take part in an introduction to lace-making.

The 3 km, one-hour walking route “Bailleul, a model of Flemish architecture” starts at the foot of the belfry and features eight information panels.

Cycling

Since 2020, more than 20.5 km of cycling infrastructure have been created in Bailleul; 8 km of greenways were added in 2023.
