The Collégiale Saint Rémy dates from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. The interior of the church was recently restored.
Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Lautrec can plan Lautrec as a destination.
Culture and History
The Porte de la Caussade preserves remnants of Lautrec’s medieval fortifications and one of its eight fortified town gates. On the Place Centrale are the wooden structures of the 15th-century market halls, which host the market. Le Lavoir is a typical wash house that was restored by Lautrec’s municipal administration following a natural disaster.
The Moulin à vent de la Salette dates from 1688 and is one of the few windmills in Midi-Pyrénées that still produce flour. Interior tours include explanations of its history and how it works. The Atelier du sabotier is a faithfully reconstructed wooden-shoe maker’s workshop that actually existed in the village until the 1960s. Traditional tools for making wooden shoes and electric copying machines are displayed there.
Local Traditions
Ail Rose de Lautrec bears both the Label Rouge and IGP designations. The Marché de l’Ail takes place on Friday mornings from mid-July until the end of the year. The Fête de l’Ail Rose de Lautrec is celebrated on the first Friday in August; for 2026, 7 and 8 August are given.
Landscape
From the Calvaire de la Salette, Lautrec, the Castres plain and, in the distance, the Montagne Noire can be seen. In clear weather, the Pyrenees can also be seen. An orientation table at the Calvaire de la Salette helps visitors identify noteworthy places.
Leisure
The Aquaval leisure complex offers supervised swimming, a paddling pool, pools with a total water surface of 800 m², water slides and interactive water games. The facilities also include a pump track, a fitness trail, fishing opportunities, play areas and a boules court.
A motorhome parking area is available in the Aquaval car park on the Route de Vielmur.
