Culture and History

The Château de Clermont in Linars occupies a promontory that rises about 30 metres above the hamlet of Linars. It has an approximately 30-metre-square floor plan and round towers at the corners. The Sentier de Linars passes close to the Château de Clermont, which is described as a former 13th-century fortress. A fortified structure at the site of the Château de Clermont is documented for the first time in 1143; in the 13th century, the fief was held by a family of knights. The Château de Clermont is partly classified as a Monument historique and partly registered as a Monument historique.

The parish church of Sainte-Quitterie in Linars, Concorès, was first mentioned in an ecclesiastical bull of 1143. It probably contains medieval fabric in the west elevation and the side walls of the nave; the two chapels are said to have been added in 1878.

The surroundings of Concorès include Abbaye Nouvelle, a ruin; Grottes de Cougnac, a cave; the Parc naturel régional des Causses du Quercy, a regional nature park; and Pech de Dreuilles, a hill.
