Camburat stretches from the surrounding hills to the valley of the Drauzou and has been known as a crossing point since antiquity. Culture and Townscape
The parish church of Camburat is dedicated to Saint Saturnin. Its bell tower bears a sundial with the year 1790. The church also contains a Romanesque capital that was reused as the foot of a holy water stoup and is protected as an object classified as a monument historique.
In the hamlet of Favard stands the Château de Favard manor house, also known as Château de Favars. It includes a staircase pavilion added in 1628. The site of the manor house overlooks the small valley of the stream of Planioles. Camburat is also dotted with hamlets and neighbourhoods featuring architecture characteristic of the Limargue. The cultural heritage includes several beautiful 18th-century houses, including the house of the Fau family. The former presbytery can be seen from the school behind Camburat town hall.
Getting Around and Local History
The route of a transport connection that still passes through Camburat town centre today is linked to the history and urban development of the town. Regular bus route 868 connects Camburat with Lacapelle-Figeac. There is also an on-demand transport service operating exclusively by reservation to Figeac or to the central towns of the Grand-Figeac area.
Festivals and Trails
The Fête votive de Camburat includes a food market. At the second edition of the „La Boucle des Prés“ hike, two signposted circular trails of 9 to 12 km through the municipality's landscapes were offered. This second edition also included a convivial meal with a regional menu, offered by reservation.
