Culture

The church of Ore has Romanesque paintings on its exterior walls. The monstrance of the church of Ore was made by Placide Poussielgue-Rusand, a goldsmith working in Paris who was active from 1847 to 1891. Napoleon III donated the monstrance to the church of Ore in 1864.

The church of Ore can be reached on foot from Saléchan-Siradan railway station in less than 40 minutes. From the ORE – Rue de Montréjeau bus stop, it can be reached on foot in less than 10 minutes.

Nature

Ore is part of the official ZNIEFF “La Garonne de la frontière franco-espagnole jusqu'à Montréjeau”. It extends from where the Garonne enters France at Plan d'Arem to Montréjeau. In former gravel pits within the municipality of Ore, nutrient-poor calcareous aquatic vegetation rich in stoneworts grows. European otters (Lutra lutra) reproduce in several areas of the ZNIEFF “La Garonne de la frontière franco-espagnole jusqu'à Montréjeau”.

The PC 17 - Les Frontignes mountain bike route passes through Ore. The Val Garona cycle path runs through the municipality of Ore. The Tour des Frontignes hiking loop reaches the village of Ore.
