Melles: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The marked Sentier n° 1 leads from Melles to the “Mémorial de l'Ours”. The marked Sentier n° 5 is called “Le chemin des mines de Pala Bidaou”. The GR® 10 connects Melles with Oô and offers panoramic views of the Pyrenees.

Nature

At the exit of Melles, the “A FLEUR DE MONTAGNE” botanical garden is located in a protected setting and presents the flora of the Pyrenean mountain range. Hikes in Melles offer views of Pic du Crabère. The peaks of Mont Sijol, Pic d'Escales, Cap dera Sèrra and Tuc de la Pique are located in the vicinity of Melles.

Culture

The church of Melles contains paintings depicting the Stations of the Cross. The hiking area around Melles includes former mines that can be visited as attractions.

Along the “Chemins de la liberté” route, Melles is one of the places where traces of maquisards, people seeking escape, opponents, resistance fighters and refugees from the Retirada can be followed.

In the wider regional surroundings of Melles are the Basilique Saint-Just and the Cathédrale Notre-Dame; both are churches.

The Melles festival programme for August 2024 included a traditional “Eclade de Moules”, organised by the Confrérie des Saoumets.
