The portals of the two churches in Arblade-le-Haut feature mysterious grimacing masks that are presumably very old.
The former Romanesque Church of Saint-Luperc de Loissan was destroyed during the Hundred Years’ War and rebuilt in the Gothic style from the 15th century onwards. It has a Gothic, bent apse and a rare collection of folk art from the 18th century, including a tomb altar and two wooden retables carved, painted and gilded by hand.
The Church of Saint-Pierre d’Arblade has a Gothic apse. On the pulpit, the rear wall features a figure of Saint Luperc, while the four Evangelists are depicted on the pulpit body.
History
The history of Arblade-le-Haut includes the union of the parishes of Arblade and Loissan. Documents relating to both parishes date back to the 11th century.
The surviving remains of Arblade’s feudal castle include parts of the drawbridge and moats. Arblade’s feudal castle was located 300 metres from the church.

Geographical location
Saint-Luperc de Loissan stands on a prominent spur above a Gallo-Roman archaeological site. This is indicated by the discovery of roof tiles and a sarcophagus.
