Winter
The Station d’Ascou offers a 4 km snowshoe route with free access. At the highest point of the Station d’Ascou, the Col de Pailhères lies at an altitude of 2,000 m and is used for snowkiting. In winter, the Station d’Ascou can only be reached from Ax-les-Thermes, as the Col de Pailhères is closed.
Mountain Landscape
The Ax 3 Domaines mountain is located in the vicinity of Ascou. The peaks of Rocher de Scaramus, Serrat de la Coumette and Serrat du Rouan are also located around Ascou.
Hiking
The hiking route to Pic de Tarbésou reaches the summit at 2,364 m. Pic de Tarbésou offers views of Mont Valier and St Barthélémy to the west and Canigou to the east. The path to Dent d’Orlu leads through a beautiful beech and birch forest and reaches a marked point at the summit at an altitude of 2,222 m.
