Sanchey: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Lac de Bouzey is an artificial reservoir created between 1874 and 1882 to supply the Canal des Vosges.

Étang de la Comtesse is located in Sanchey and is a protected natural area. An educational trail and wooden walkways allow visitors to explore Étang de la Comtesse while protecting its sensitive ecosystem.

Culture and History

Fort de Sanchey dates from 1883 and historically formed the link between the forts of Girancourt and Uxegney. It is a site of military heritage.

Batterie de Sanchey was built between 1881 and 1883 and features a working drawbridge that was activated during the European Heritage Days. Heritage circular route no. 9, “Bouzey and Its Forts”, allows visitors to discover Batterie de Sanchey and runs alongside the Canal des Vosges at several points.

Visiting

Tourbière et l'étang de la Comtesse could be visited freely by individual visitors. From September 2020, guided tours for individual visitors to Fort de Sanchey were available on request; visits were limited to the exterior areas.
