Rehaupal

The Le Trou de l’Enfer gorge in Rehaupal is a classified site that has been protected since December 10, 1910, and covers 16.54 hectares.

Nature

The gorge forms a rocky landscape strewn with boulders.

The Barba flows through Le Trou de l’Enfer, partly in rushing cascades, and disappears beneath the rocks for a distance of around 200 m.

Rehaupal lies in a narrow glacial valley traversed by the Barba.

Culture

The Minoterie Viry is a water-powered mill on Le Moulin in Rehaupal. It was built between 1949 and 1952 and is still in operation.

At Moulin Viry, grain is grown locally and processed by a miller-farmer; this activity has existed for ten generations.

The Église Saint-Pierre de Rehaupal is decorated with stained-glass windows by the glass artist Gabriel Loire. Free visits are available at the church for individual visitors.

Cycling

The red mountain bike circular route No. 10 Rehaupal–Champdray starts at the Église de Rehaupal. It is 19 km long and has 510 m of positive elevation gain.
