The Église Saint-Aubin is dated to 1680 as well as the 18th and 19th centuries. It was built to replace an older sanctuary that had been destroyed during the wars of the 17th century. A storm destroyed a large part of the building on 14 September 1754.

Joseph Emile Colson (1821–1870) is associated with Saint-Aubin-sur-Aire. He came from the village, was a graduate of Saint-Cyr, and pursued a military career. Colson fought in Algeria, Crimea and Italy. As chief of staff of the First Army Corps of the Army of the Rhine, he was killed in the Battle of Reichshoffen in 1870.

Nature

The Aire rises in Saint-Aubin-sur-Aire at an altitude of 324 metres. It crosses the Meuse département from south to north along the eastern edge of the Argonne massif and flows into the Aisne from the right bank in the Ardennes.
