Choloy-Ménillot: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château de Choloy was built at the beginning of the 19th century in a style inspired by Italian architecture.

Protected as a historic monument are the façades and roofs of the château and its outbuildings, selected interior features and staircases of the main building, as well as the entire garden with its architectural elements.

Culture

The Nécropole nationale de Choloy-Ménillot can be visited throughout the year as part of self-guided visits.

It was established in 1914 for soldiers who died of their injuries while being treated in medical units in the Toul area. Almost 2,000 French soldiers, as well as soldiers of several Allied nationalities, are buried there.

The Church of Saint John the Baptist in Choloy preserves a remodelled Romanesque bell tower from the 12th century; its nave was rebuilt in 1771.

Nature

The park of the Château de Choloy is characterised by long avenues and a pond.

The Pelouses du Toulois Natura 2000 site comprises dry limestone grasslands rich in orchids.

The Château de Choloy winery offers wines representing the full range of Côtes de Toul wines.

Activities

The Chemin de Fer du Val de Passey offers an approximately one-kilometre journey through the forest on a 0.60-metre gauge railway with two steam locomotives.

The Val de Passey also has a carp pond and a trout-fishing pond, which can be used for half or full days. Hiking trails also start there.
