Sorède lies at the foot of the Albères Massif and near the Mediterranean beaches. The Albères Massif is home to Notre-Dame du Château in the municipality of Sorède, known as Mare de Deu del Castell in Catalan. The site was formerly a hermitage and pilgrimage site dedicated to the Virgin Mary; construction took place from 1675 to 1681.

Nature
The peaks of Puig de Sant Miquel, Puig Nalt and Roc del Migdia are located in the immediate vicinity of Sorède. The Puig Neulós peak is also located nearby. The Rec Mayral is a very old irrigation system with around twenty secondary channels.
Things to Do
Lavail is the starting point for numerous hikes. The Parcours découvertes de Sorède also passes through Sorède, an easy, shady circular walk through the village with several possible stopping points along the river.
The hike to the Cabanes de Mataporc crosses Sorède, follows the Le Tassio river and offers the opportunity to discover old, well-preserved shepherds’ huts in the Albères.
A protected cycle route of the Méditerranée à vélo (EV8) connects Valmy with the village of Sorède and passes through olive groves, vineyards and the garrigue.
Culture
At the Sorède solar furnace, the life and work of Padre Himalaya are presented, along with experiments involving solar energy and metal fusion. ESAT « Les Micocouliers » preserves a craft of processing hackberry wood that dates back to the 13th century; products include whips, riding crops, walking sticks and various sporting goods.
The Castell d'Ultrera, a castle, is located in the immediate vicinity of Sorède. The Castell de Requesens, also a castle, is located near Sorède. The Prieuré Notre-Dame du Vilar monastery (1083–1790) is also located nearby. Castell dels Moros, a historic site, is also located in the surrounding area.
The Sant Martà de Montbram Chapel is a Romanesque building from the 12th century with a single-nave layout, a Trinitarian bell-tower support and a dressed-stone portal.
