History
Iron was mined in Sahorre for centuries. The Meners and Thorrent iron ore deposits were intensively exploited from the mid-19th century onwards. The Sahorre mines closed in 1963.

Culture
The Fête de la Rotja takes place annually on the last Sunday in October; it was formerly known as the Fête de la Pomme Sahorre. The event promotes local producers, farmers, craftspeople and traders.
Hiking
The Sentier de Falguerosa is a 5.5 km circular hike starting in Sahorre. It is also a family-friendly, shady walking trail in the Rotja Valley that follows in the footsteps of Sahorre’s mining past. The trail offers beautiful views of Canigó, the Escaro mines, and the Cady and Rotja valleys.
The Sentier du Baron is a 9.0 km circular hike. It explores the mining, agro-pastoral and architectural heritage of Sahorre and Thorrent.
Local Products
At Château de Toren, apples, cherries, sweet chestnuts, juices and jams are produced. Apples are considered a well-known agricultural product of Sahorre and Thorrent.
Depending on the season, apples and apple juice made from the Reinette du Canada blanche variety are sold directly from the farm at the barn in Thorrent (Sahorre).
