Culture
The Church of Saint-Julien and Sainte-Baselisse houses the statuette Vierge de Notre-Dame de Corbiach, which dates from the last quarter of the 13th century. Capelleta, also known as the Church of Sainte Marie dels Vedrinyans, is a renovated Romanesque church built on the ruins of the castle chapel and serves as a cultural venue. The Church of Saint-Julien and Sainte-Baselisse was built in 1362 and rebuilt in 1632 and 1647.
The Portal de Coma Gelada has preserved its granite stonework. When Mosset became a barony and a fortified border stronghold in 1330, the village was given a defensive wall; its remains are still visible. The Llotja has two arcades and a fountain. From 1379 until the Peace of the Pyrenees, it was the seat of the consuls and deputies of the Parliament of Catalonia.
The statue Sainte Marie de Jau, also known as Clariana, dates from the first quarter of the 14th century, belongs to the municipality of Mosset, and stands in a niche in the Portal de Santa Magdalena within the fortified village enclosure.
Hiking and Nature
The Sentier des 5 sens is an approximately 4-kilometre-long, family-friendly and educational hiking trail through the Mosset forest. It is about ten minutes from the village in the direction of Col de Jau.
The hike to Pic du Roussillon starts in the village of Mosset and leads through forests, over ridges and across open landscapes. The summit of Pic du Roussillon offers a 360-degree view of the mountains and the Castellane Valley; occasionally, the view extends as far as the Mediterranean.
Mosset is part of the Madres–Coronat Natura 2000 site under the European Habitats Directive.
