Construction of the Palais des Rois de Majorque began in 1274 and was completed with the fall of the kingdom in 1344. The Funeraria was built at the end of the 14th century for funeral ceremonies. The Palais des Corts is a Gothic monument dating from the early 14th century that housed the various courts of Roussillon.

Le Castillet was built in the last third of the 14th century as a fortified gate to monitor the stone bridge and the approaches to Perpignan. From the 16th to the 19th century, Le Castillet was used as a prison, and in the 20th century it became a museum. The Loge de mer is now an exhibition space open to the public.

Casa Pairal is a social history museum dedicated to Catalan folk art and traditions and has been designated a “Musée de France” since 2002. Its permanent exhibition is devoted to the history of Perpignan through the various periods. Casa Pairal contains more than 25,000 movable objects and an equal number of iconographic objects and is considered a local ethnographic reference.

The Musée des monnaies et médailles Joseph Puig now holds 45,000 coins and medals from all periods and countries, from the first coins to the euro. It also possesses one of France’s most significant public coin collections.

Les Halles Vauban is a covered market hall in the city centre with more than twenty food artisans; visitors can eat on site.
