Culture and history

The Saint-Vincent church in Eus dates from the 18th century and was built on the ruins of the former castle.

The Saint-Vincent chapel was built in the 11th and 13th centuries and has been listed as a historic monument since 28 January 1960. This Romanesque chapel stands in the cemetery in the valley, one kilometre from Eus.

Eus was once fortified; in the 16th century, the former defensive site had to repel French troops, and in the 18th century, the Spanish army.

The Musée La Solana in Eus displays tools, agricultural machinery and everyday objects. The collection is organised by themes such as shepherds’ lives, fieldwork, ovens and mills, winegrowing, Catalan cuisine, school and crafts.

Special insights and events

The Domaine Schaller offers a guided tour with a tasting of rare citrus fruits, including picking and an immersion in the oldest European garden of rare citrus fruits.

The Course des Lézards has been held in Eus for more than 20 years. It takes place on the last Sunday of August each year and covers almost 13 kilometres within the municipality.

Visits to the village and the lower Saint-Vincent church are possible in the morning by prior appointment; registration must be completed at least two days in advance.
