Lac de Villefort has a sandy beach and a bathing area supervised in summer. The lake covers 137 hectares. Kayaking and windsurfing are available on the lake.

Water and Activity
The Lac de Villefort via ferrata runs above the lake. It includes several crossings at exposed stations, including a footbridge, a Nepalese bridge and a zip line. There are two routes for different levels of ability: an easy one and a difficult one.
Around the Lake
The route around Lac de Villefort can be reached from Villefort via the D 906 in about five minutes. It crosses the dam inaugurated in 1964 and showcases clèdes and bancels as evidence of the work of the people of the Cévennes in the previous century.
Culture and History
The Chemin de Régordane passes through Villefort. In the area around Villefort, La Garde-Guérin is home to the fortified medieval Cité médiévale de la Garde-Guérin on the Chemin de Régordane, above the Chassezac gorges.
The Church of Saint-Victorin in Villefort is a uniformly designed neoclassical parish church. It has twelve large figurative stained-glass windows depicting the lives of the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph, which are works by the glass artist Louis-Victor Gesta.
The Chapel of Saint-Loup in Villefort was demolished in the 16th century and rebuilt in 1621. It is a 360-degree viewpoint from which the natural and cultural heritage can be photographed.
Also in the area around Villefort, in Pourcharesses, is the manor house of Château de Castanet. It dates back to the 13th century, although it may be older.
