Culture
The Église Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur in Chastanier is a Romanesque church dating from the 12th century and dedicated to Saint James the Greater. It was dependent on Langogne Abbey and formed a stop on the route to Compostela.
The Musée d’Art Sacré is located on the first floor of the former presbytery, which is attached to the church. It displays liturgical ornaments and objects used in religious rituals. The collection also includes historic textiles made from rare silk fabrics with embroidery in gold, silver and silk threads.
