Culture

At the centre of Galargues stood a Romanesque church with a cemetery at the end of the 12th or beginning of the 13th century. The church was extended around 1838, giving it its present form. The bell gable on its façade was built around 1870, while the detached bell tower on the north side was erected in 1902.

Sericulture was practised in Galargues in the 17th and 18th centuries. The village was located near the Roman road from Nîmes via Sommières to Toulouse Vieille, which ran through the plain of Aspères near Garrigues towards Pic Saint-Loup. Viticulture is also one of Galargues' agricultural traditions.

The Les Coteaux de la Lune SCA Fraternelle cooperative winery was built in Galargues in 1939 for winegrowers from Galargues and Buzignargues. It is still in operation and has preserved its original architecture and façade design.
