Saint-Ferriol is situated on a rocky promontory and overlooks two valleys. From here, you can see the mountains of Capcir and Vallespir; the Pic de Bugarach is also visible.

Culture
The Château de Saint-Ferriol stands on a platform above the village. The earliest mention of the first Château de Saint-Ferriol dates back to 1155. The present château was probably built at the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century and has been listed as a historic monument since 17 September 1999.
The church of Saint-Ferriol was completely restored in 1892, fitted with stained-glass windows and extended with a sacristy. Between the church and the château in the centre of the village stands a Calvary depicting Christ on the cross.
Before running water and washing machines were introduced, the old washhouse was used by the villagers for washing clothes. Its basins were refilled with water and are supplied by a closed-loop system with ecological filtration.
At four intersections of municipal roads stand crosses erected by previous generations, bearing witness to former customs and events. Some retired blacksmiths decorate Saint-Ferriol free of charge with wrought-iron sculptures and several historic grilles.
A guided historical tour of Saint-Ferriol is available on request. The Culture et Patrimoine association organises events in Saint-Ferriol featuring plays, recitals and discovery excursions. The village festival committee offers events throughout the year.
Local
Domaine de Moucha is a family-run business with 1,400 olive trees planted in 1999 across four hectares. Olive oil is produced and sold there. Arbequina olives from its own plantation are used to produce the olive oil.
