Quintillan: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The entire municipal territory of Quintillan belongs to the Parc naturel régional Corbières-Fenouillèdes. The regional park was classified for fifteen years from the publication of the decree of 4 September 2021. Those planning Quintillan as a travel destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment for their stay.

Nature

Part of Quintillan lies within the Natura 2000 site ZPS Corbières orientales, the bird protection area FR9112008, designated by ministerial decree on 6 April 2006. In the Quintillan area, this Natura 2000 site also includes forested areas.

The ZNIEFF “Cours amont de la rivière de la Berre” encompasses wetland areas along the banks, riparian forests and meadows along the waterways. Its area includes almost 30 kilometres of the Berre river course through the eastern Corbières. The ZNIEFF is located in the southeast of the Aude department and includes Quintillan.

Culture

The Église Sainte-Madeleine is dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene and reflects the religious and spiritual history of Quintillan. It is also listed as a heritage site of Quintillan.

Hiking

Asinerie Quintill’Ane offers guided walks and hikes along the stone paths and through Quintillan’s vineyard landscape. Its routes lead to the Quintillan state forest and a natural pool. Along the way, they follow mule tracks lined with Mediterranean vegetation, including juniper trees, strawberry trees, thyme and other plants.

Asinerie Quintill’Ane is open year-round in suitable weather by prior appointment; the appointment must be arranged at least two days in advance.

Le Col de Mairolles is a circular hiking route in the municipality of Quintillan in the Aude department. The route is approximately 5.9 kilometres long and takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes on average. Le Col de Mairolles offers unobstructed views of the Corbières, the surrounding plain and the village of Quintillan.
