Nature and trails

The Parcours santé in the Bois de la Tour offers a family-friendly exercise area with several approved fitness machines, picnic tables and an information board. Escales is also part of the Pays Corbières Minervois hiking trail network, which makes it possible to explore the region on foot.

The Sentier des Écoliers leads to the wind turbines and offers views of the surrounding landscapes. The wind farm is located on the heights of Escales and is visible from several points within the municipality.

The medieval keep known as the Tour d'Escales stands about two kilometres from the village on a relatively easily accessible hilltop. The Sentier de la Tour provides access to a local landmark of the village.

Culture

The Église Saint-Martin is classified as a historic monument and is a Romanesque church with three apses and three naves. The Fontaine de la place de la Tourette is part of the local heritage and a historic reminder of traditional village life.

The Monument aux morts du Clos Saint Martin commemorates the residents of the municipality who died for France.

Wine

Château La Bastide is located in the north of the Corbières appellation and has 60 hectares of vineyards as well as 11 IGP and AOP cuvées.
