The gate of the former Abbaye Notre-Dame-des-Anges is partly protected as a monument historique; this protection was decreed on 2 December 1946. The Abbaye Notre-Dame-des-Anges was founded in 1156 by the Bishop of Chartres and housed Benedictine nuns until the French Revolution. Its only surviving relic is a monumental gate built around 1650.
