Culture and History
The Église Saint-Cyr-Saint-Julitte has been listed as a historic monument by decree since 23 April 1947. It was rebuilt in 1747 using some of the Romanesque and Gothic vaults from the previous church. Inside, there is an altarpiece dating from around 1700 and an 18th-century confessional.
Jean-Paul Riopelle bought a studio in Saint-Cyr-en-Arthies. The former studio was restored around 2010 and is now privately owned.
The park of the Château de la Bûcherie was transformed into a landscaped park by Barillet-Deschamps in 1864. Saint-Cyr-en-Arthies is also home to the former farm complex of the Château de la Bûcherie.
The washhouse of the Grande Vallée is one of the places worth seeing in Saint-Cyr-en-Arthies.
Nature
The Parc de la Bûcherie is home to beautiful oak trees as well as large, fully grown beech trees that are around 130 years old.
Since 2007, the quarry has been part of the Natura 2000 site “Chiroptera sites of the French Vexin”, which serves to protect the Vexin’s quarries used by bats for hibernation.
Access to the quarry in Saint-Cyr-en-Arthies is not permitted today.
