Culture
The Espace Saint-Exupéry comprises a theatre and cinema auditorium with 423 seats. Numerous performing arts events, exhibitions and author signings take place there throughout the year. The Théâtre Jean Cocteau also has 423 seats.
The Conservatoire is a public institution offering specialised arts education and is open to children from the age of 4 as well as adults. Around 50 musical, choreographic and theatrical subjects are offered. The Ciné Henri Langlois screens six to eight films per week.
Franconville’s themed “Promenade découverte” also includes the route past the Rebecca statue. This promenade takes place every year and has become an established local event.
Nature and exercise
Franconville has 220 hectares of green spaces, as well as parks and gardens. The Bois des Eboulures is suitable for jogging and features a fitness trail. The area around the Butte du Parisis allows for a car-free walk as far as Montigny-lès-Cormeilles. The Circuit de Boissy is a very easy walking route.
For further sporting activities, the Centre de Sports et de Loisirs has a swimming pool, an ice rink and a climbing wall. The Big Wall Franconville climbing wall comprises 25 routes.
Markets
The Marché de l’Épine-Guyon takes place on Sunday mornings from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eight vendors offer fruit, vegetables, flowers and cheese there. The Marché de la Gare now has around 20 vendors, including fruit and vegetable sellers, roast-meat vendors, and sellers of Creole cuisine and couscous.
Transport connections
Franconville–Le Plessis-Bouchard station is served by line H and RER C. Since 5 January 2026, Franconville has also been served by express bus route 9513.
