Culture
The Musée Daubigny permanently displays around 30 works by C.-F. Daubigny and his son Karl. The Château d’Auvers was built in the 17th century and features a multimedia tour of Impressionism. A walk through the park of the Château d’Auvers offers a more comprehensive Impressionist experience.
The Maison du docteur Gachet is also one of the town’s notable sites. The house, acquired by Paul Gachet in 1872, became a place of creative exchange between Cézanne, Pissarro, Guillaumin and Paul van Ryssel. The grounds include traces of Vincent van Gogh: the garden of the Maison du docteur Gachet was immortalised twice by the painter in his works.
Auvers-sur-Oise is classified as a Site Patrimonial Remarquable and has nine sites classified as Monuments Historiques. The Église Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption was founded towards the end of the 10th century and is particularly known for a painting by Vincent van Gogh.
Nature
The Chemin des Peintres is a 9 km-long route in Auvers-sur-Oise. A one-hour village loop along the Chemin des Peintres, accessible to everyone, allows visitors to discover the most important places painted by Van Gogh.
