La Vaivre: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
La Vaivre lies within the designated area of the controlled designation of origin AOC Kirsch de Fougerolles.
Culture
The former site housed a distillery for kirsch and absinthe under Alexandre Servain. The former distillery’s operations were continued by Jean-Baptiste Petit until the 1930s. The former distillery of Alphonse Barret was probably built in 1870.
La Vaivre has a small bell tower used for tolling the bell for the dead. It may have been built through the sale of a stone watering trough.
A branch of the Roman road from Besançon to Plombières via Luxeuil ran about 600 metres from La Vaivre. The old road is still called Route des Romains today.
Nature
The Pierre de la Caraude is located in the municipal forest of La Vaivre. In the wider regional area around La Vaivre, it lies in the Bois de la Caraude near Aillevillers-et-Lyaumont. The enormous boulder rests in precarious balance but does not tip over; as a large erratic boulder, it is reminiscent of the profile of a witch.
Geographical location
La Vaivre is located a few kilometres from the Vosges département and near the D57 bis.
In 2026, the Gîte Pom et Cerise is located at 6 route de Plombières, 70320 La Vaivre.
Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in La Vaivre is choosing to stay in the village itself.
