Nature and Coast
Pinarello Beach has shallow water over a long stretch. At Pinarello Beach, an access mat, a beach wheelchair and accessible toilets are available for people with reduced mobility.
The small island of Ruscana lies in Pinarello Bay. It is a Natura 2000 site protected by a ministerial biotope protection order; access is prohibited. Pinarellu Island can be reached by kayak or paddleboard and is covered with juniper and maquis.
History
The Tour de Pinarello, or Isoli di Corsi, is listed as a historic monument and was completed in 1591. Together with the tower of Porto, it is one of the only square towers in southern Corsica.
Access to the Tour de Pinarellu is difficult on foot: After walking along Pinarello Beach and through the pine grove, follow the customs officers’ path and cross a stretch of sea with a water depth of approximately 1 m.
On the Water
The Société Nautique de Pinarello offers wingfoil courses and E-foil outings and rents out catamarans, dinghies, sea kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and wingfoils. Sporsica Côte Balades offers guided sea kayak or stand-up paddleboard excursions around Pinarellu Island.
One tour offered by Sporsica Côte Balades includes a swimming break and a tasting of local products at the Genoese tower.
Getting Around
The coastal path between Pinarello and Vardiola is an easy PR hiking trail.
