The Château de Villars-en-Azois combines several clearly recognisable historical periods of the locality. Its protected status covers the façades and roofs, the drawing-room fireplace on the ground floor, and the fully preserved 16th-century tower; the listing was enacted by decree on 26 August 1988. Built in 1525, the tower is the only surviving remnant of the former Château de Villars-en-Azois and houses a collection of tools and equipment reflecting the region’s folk traditions.
Culture
The present residence of the Château de Villars-en-Azois dates from the 18th century and is designed in the Louis XVI style. The château is complemented by a kitchen garden on the site of the former moat.
The Church of Saint-Félix-Saint-Augebert is also part of the locality’s history. It dates from the 18th century and is dedicated to Saints Félix and Augebert. Its choir has chamfered sides and is illuminated by four large round-arched windows.

The 510-hectare communal forest of Villars-en-Azois is included in a Natura 2000 Special Protection Area for birds (SPA). The forest consists of 43 percent sessile or pedunculate oaks and 34 percent beech trees.
