Culture and history

The Théâtre de Saint-Dizier is listed in the supplementary inventory of French historic monuments. It was restored in 2007, including its 1920s decorations, and is a small theatre in the Italian style. Au Petit Paris is an original work of art brut by Marcel Dhièvre and has been listed in the supplementary inventory of French historic monuments since 1984.

The Les Crassées site contains the remains of a Gallo-Roman rural residence and a necropolis. Since 2011, a total of 1,035 graves have been discovered there. The Église Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption preserves a collection of statues from the 15th and 16th centuries. The Tour dite « MIKO » houses a room featuring the Ortiz family's tricycle and advertising objects documenting the history of MIKO ice creams.

Les Halles de Saint-Dizier is a covered market hall with unusual architecture and high-quality materials, offering space for up to around 30 traders, craftspeople or local producers.

La Grande Boucle de Saint-Dizier is an 8 km circular route through the city centre along the Marne and the canal. It includes nine water-related sites. From Saint-Dizier, 200 km of cycle paths are available for exploring the region freely and safely.

The Château et ses fortifications include three 13th-century towers at the foot of the fortifications: the Tour du Saint-Esprit, the Tour de la Batterie and the Tour du Moulin.

Routes

The Route de la Fonte d'Art is a 91.4 km circular route with ten points of interest. It begins in Saint-Dizier and passes through villages in the valleys of the Blaise and the Marne, which are regarded as the undisputed birthplace of artistic iron casting in the 19th century.

A route from Saint-Dizier to Lac du Der follows the feeder canal that supplies the lake with water.
