Culture
The Chapelle de Saint-Vinebault is located in Chevillon; its site formerly belonged to the municipality of Brueil-sur-Marne. Since 2015, the chapel has held the designation “Remarkable Contemporary Architecture”. It was completed in 1960 according to plans by the architect Georges Parisot to replace an older church.
Near La Landre are the remains of a settlement on a rocky promontory. The site has been inhabited since the end of the Neolithic period, that is, for more than 5,000 years. Near the hamlet of La Landre, there are also the remains of a Roman villa covering several hectares, dating from the time of the Roman conquest of Gaul in 52 BC.
The Bois de la Bouloire contains megaliths that may be the remains of a former dolmen. The Château Jaune dates back to the Middle Ages and was a hunting lodge belonging to the lords of Joinville; it has been converted into a media library.

Gardens
The medieval garden of the Château de Chevillon is designed as an enclosed garden at the foot of the recently restored manor house. It comprises nine beds planted with hydrangeas, an orchard, and a cloister made of local wood, iron, and stone. There are also more than 50 plant species, including medicinal and aromatic plants, as well as areas for growing vegetables.
Things to do
The circular route “Les chemins des carriers – PR N°40” is 12 kilometres long, starts and ends in Chevillon, and is classified as easy for hiking and mountain biking.
A footpath runs along the stream near the Château de Chevillon.
Cuisine
Chevillon is a very creamy soft cheese with a white-mould rind and can be sampled in the cheese dairy’s shop. Chevillon cheese has been handmade for more than ten years in the former Fromagerie du Vallage.
