Culture and History
The fortified castle in Laas dates back to the 15th century. A tower, a cellar, a well and the moats have been preserved. The present-day residential building and the associated farmstead date from the second half of the 18th century.
The tower has three storeys and a square floor plan. It features a beautiful stone fireplace from the 18th century. The well belonging to the castle is approximately 2.50 metres wide and approximately 17 metres deep.
In the vicinity of Laas are the Château de l'Ardoise and Château de Saint-Michel castles, as well as the historic sites Ancien prieuré Saint-Pierre and Abbaye de la Cour-Dieu.
The base of the bell tower of the parish church of Saint-Martin in Laas dates from the 12th century. The church features cross-ribbed, barrel and domical vaults.
The Eglise Saint-Eutrope adjoins the château; its tower is imposing. The nave and choir each have one bay.
