Culture and History

The Église Saint-Martin was rebuilt at the end of the 19th century in the neo-Romanesque style and can be recognised by its slender bell tower. The washhouse is located by the millrace of the Moulin des Borses and is fed by the Notre-Heure. It is a landmark of the municipality and is associated with the nickname “Cernoy les Bérouettes”. At the same time, the washhouse served as a meeting place for the village women, where they could exchange news from the remote hamlets.

The Fontaine Saint-Loup is located 100 metres from the village and is decorated with a statue of a saint. Until the First World War, it was a pilgrimage site. The Circuit de la Fontaine Saint-Loup ends at the Fontaine Saint-Loup.
