Culture and history

In Saint-Ouen stands the Puits de la Jousselinière, a municipal well on Rue de la Chapelle. It bears witness to rural life in the past. The well is located in the hamlet of La Jousselinière, which is said to have been a fief dependent on the Château de Vendôme in 1445.

Today’s Saint-Ouen church replaced a medieval church that had become too small to accommodate the parishioners. The Saint-Ouen church in Saint-Ouen houses the statue “Vierge à l'Enfant”, which was restored in 2022. According to tradition, Saint Ouen founded a small oratory near a spring during a stay in the Vendômois region.
