Oisly: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Oisly is part of the AOP Touraine Oisly wine-growing region between the Loire and Cher rivers. Anyone wishing to rent a holiday apartment in Oisly should focus their search on this village.
Culture and History
The Church of Saint Hippolytus in Oisly is the only church in the Loir-et-Cher department dedicated to Saint Hippolytus. A vineyard hut on the road to Contres was restored in 2013 as part of a joint project by Oisly and Sassay.
Nature
The Bavet stream rises near the centre of Oisly, then flows through Couddes and Choussy before finally reaching Monthou-sur-Cher. The landscape also includes the Chêne Gaillard oak: its trunk circumference is 4.90 metres, and it may be around 500 years old.
Wine
Domaine des Corbillières was acquired by Fabel Barbou in 1923. It is located in Oisly and covers 20 hectares managed organically. It includes a Sauvignon plot with 16 rows planted in 1964. By prior appointment, Domaine des Corbillières welcomes visitors to its wine cellar.
Domaine Penet recommends its Touraine Oisly with goat’s cheese, shellfish or fish in sauce. Domaine Octavie has roots in Oisly’s winemaking history, dating back to 1885, and welcomes visitors for a tour, a wine tasting or a personal discussion about its wines.
Divin Loire offers tours of its vineyards and wine cellar by prior appointment. The offer also includes a wine tasting and the tasting of local products with paid snack platters. Domaine Pré Baron offers a 1.5-hour guided tour followed by a commented wine tasting, as well as an e-bike tour through the Oisly terroir that ends with a wine tasting.
