Culture

Saint-Avit is home to the Church of Notre-Dame, which dates from around the beginning of the 12th century. Its nave is divided into five sections and ends in a semicircular apse. The church is covered with chestnut-wood shingles; several of its original windows have been preserved.

In the Middle Ages, Saint-Avit-au-Perche was a priory of Saint-Calais Abbey. The local history also includes the statue “Saint Avit”, which was registered as a protected cultural object on 14 November 1975.

Those who choose Saint-Avit for their stay may be planning to rent a holiday apartment.
