Maslives: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Maslives is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site as a “Village du Val de Loire”. The tourist trail “Histoire au fil des rues®” is integrated into the village: the self-guided walking route leads through an open-air museum and is marked by numbered information panels.

Culture

The Girouet of Maslives on the village square and a facsimile of the “Lettres Patentes” at the town hall reception are worth seeing. The covered wells in the commune of Maslives are also notable features of the village.

There are numerous vineyard huts around Maslives. They served as places for the winemaker and his workers to rest and to store materials.

Cuisine

The Biscuiterie de Chambord in Maslives preserves traditional craftsmanship in the production of traditional biscuits inspired by the local culinary heritage. It offers a guided tour of its artisan workshop. During the tour, biscuits are sampled with local red or white wines, or with local fruit juice.

The Biscuiterie de Chambord’s most important product is the Palet Solognot, a traditional pastry made with raisins and rum.

Walking and Cycling Routes

The Route d’Artagnan runs through Maslives along the communal roads CR No. 8 and CR No. 17 between Saint-Dyé and Chambord.

Maslives lies at the intersection of the “Loire à vélo” cycle route and the “Châteaux à vélo” loops.

The La Charrette renversée viewpoint offers a new view of the Château de Chambord from outside the château grounds. The car park at Maslives town hall is the recommended starting point for La Charrette renversée.

Events

Since 2022, the commune of Maslives has opened its council chamber to artists. The “Expos en mairie” series features exhibitions there with different dates, durations and themes.

The Brocante de Maslives takes place every year on 1 May at the former football pitch.
