Averdon: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Culture and history

The Church of Saint Lubin dates back to the Carolingian period. It contains late Baroque altarpieces and furnishings from the late 17th century, which are classified as historic monuments.

The dolmen is located at La Grande Pierre in Averdon. It was classified as a historic monument by decree of 16 October 1979.

Nature

The Grand-Pierre et Vitain National Nature Reserve is located in the municipalities of Averdon and Marolles. Access routes within the reserve are regulated because of private properties and hunting seasons.

This protected area contains the Grand Mesle rocky promontory. It encompasses an area of 6.48 hectares classified as a historic monument, with burial monuments dating from the Neolithic and protohistoric periods. At the same time, Grand Mesle is the largest protohistoric necropolis in Centre-Val de Loire.

Landscape

The Marais des Tresseaux is a 4.5-hectare wetland along the Cisse. Its restoration serves to restore and preserve animal and plant biodiversity. The marsh attracts numerous schoolchildren for educational purposes.

The municipal pond of Averdon is a pleasant place for walks and offers opportunities for fishing.

Regional transport in Centre-Val de Loire is provided by the Rémi network.

The “Randonnée équestre en petite Beauce” is a 27 km-long, unmarked and entirely self-guided horseback riding route that passes through Averdon and runs through the Cisse Valley.
