Culture and History
The Église abbatiale bénédictine Saint-Pierre is classified as a historic monument. It was completed in 1009 as a Benedictine abbey church in the Romanesque-Byzantine style; the nave contains sculpted capitals, and a crypt lies beneath the sanctuary.
The Ancienne église Notre-Dame-des-Echelles dates from the late 11th century and preserves remnants of wall paintings from the 15th and 17th centuries. The Moulin de Chanvre was first mentioned in documents in 1447 and probably dates from the 10th to 12th century.
The Château des Lions preserves parts of a fortification associated with the former first barony of Touraine in Preuilly. The surviving elements include a feudal gate, a round tower and a former prison.
The Musée de la Poterne presents the former prisons and the history of the town. In summer, it can be visited from mid-July to mid-August with young tour guides, and year-round by appointment.
The Chapelle de Tous-les-Saints is a 15th-century funerary chapel with a wall painting depicting a dance of death. It is open to visitors by telephone appointment.
The Église abbatiale Saint-Pierre is freely accessible every day; tours of the church and the town centre are possible by reservation.

The Forêt de Tours-Preuilly is characterised by numerous ponds and also contains a botanical maze.
