Genillé: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
Genillé preserves an exceptionally early testimony to its local history with the Dolmen d’Hys. It is the oldest surviving testimony in the municipality and dates from the Neolithic period between 2500 and 1500 BC.

Culture and history
The Church of Sainte-Eulalie dates from the 11th to the 16th century. Its features include stained-glass windows from the Lobin workshops, a polychrome-painted wooden ceiling in the nave, and a white marble holy-water font dating from 1494.
Genillé is also home to the Pavillon de l’octroi, a building dating from the 16th century. The Château de la Bourdillière housed a women’s abbey in the 17th century. The manor house of the Château de Genillé dates from the 15th century and was remodelled in the 16th and 19th centuries.
The historical discovery trail through Genillé comprises 22 French-English information panels explaining the development of the town’s rural history.
Nature
The municipality of Genillé contains three ZNIEFF sites and one Natura 2000 site. Near the Indrois, the rocky plateau of Genillé is characterised by ravines in which caves and troglodytic dwellings were created.
Paths and circular trails
The Touraine à vélo cycle route, loop no. 63, leads from Genillé to the Château de Montpoupon and is 29 kilometres long. The “Sur les pas d’Adam Fumée” hiking trail runs for 12 kilometres from the centre of Genillé to the Forêt domaniale de Loches.
The “De l’Indrois au château de Pont” route passes between forests and undergrowth, taking in numerous private châteaux and cave sites.
The meeting point for the 16.2-kilometre, blue-marked hike is at Place Fernand Raoul-Duval, formerly Place du Champ de Foire; cars can be parked in the car park there.
Event
The Foire aux marrons takes place on the third Sunday in October.
